The Commission seeks to provide clear and timely information to the public and to the city council concerning the planning and development activities within the city.

The Commission is made of nine members, one of which is the mayor, three city officials or employees appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Aldermen. The other five members shall be resident citizens and qualified voters of the City appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Aldermen. All members serve without pay.
