05/24/2013	Avenue of Flags - Volunteers Needed The Avenue of Flags will again be proudly displayed during the Memorial Day Weekend at the Centralia City Cemetery. The flags will be raised, weather permitting*, on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. and will be lowered on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. There will be over 370 flags on display, and volunteers are needed to raise and/or lower the flags. Please meet at the VFW Memorial & Flag Display at 5:00 p.m. to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem before setting up the display. We are asking all volunteers to please park on the side streets along the cemetery instead of in the cemetery to allow room for the truck and trailer to drop the poles for the flags. Your help and support would greatly be appreciated.

05/27/2013	City Hall Closed City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013, in observance of Memorial Day. Monday's trash route will be picked up on the preceeding Friday. The composting site will be closed on Saturday, May 25, 2013. For utility emergencies after hours, contact the Centrala Police Department at (573) 682-2132.

Listed below are the events scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2013: 3 p.m. - Carnival Opens 6 p.m. - National Anthem - Big Stage 6 p.m. - Music by Iron Horse - Big Stage 7 p.m. - Parade - Downtown Area (line-up at 6 p.m. at High School) 8 p.m. - Music by Iron Horse - Big Stage 9 p.m. - Street Dance featuring Hazard County - Singleton Street

06/01/2013	3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Centralia Friends of the Park will host the annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament during Anchor Fest on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Entry fee is $60 per team, which includes a t-shirt for up to 4 players. Medals will be awarded to the top two teams in each age division. Brackets and rules will be available on site at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event. Download entry form here.
