Snow Removal Information

The following is information from the Centralia Street Department regarding the procedure for winter snow removal. Please contact City Hall at (573) 682-2139 if you have any questions.

  • The Street Dept. starts with priority streets such as Jefferson St., Lakeview St., Allen St., and streets around schools and the downtown area.
  • Secondary streets will be cleared after priority streets are cleared
  • Only alleys in the downtown area will be plowed - not residential alleys
  • When scooping snow from driveways, pile it to the rigt of your driveway as you are facing the street; this will help from having your driveway plowed back shut
  • In order for streets to be plowed more effectively, keep cars off the streets during snow events.
  • The City crews do not clean out driveways that are plowed shut
