Scams and Fraud Prevention

City of Centralia Scam

Always be cautious when answering calls from unknown numbers. If the call sounds to good to be true, more than likely that is the case. Never provide any personal information about yourself, which includes the following; name, age, date of birth, address or social security number. It is important to never share your online passwords with anyone. When shopping or making purchases online, ensure the website is secure before entering any sensitive information.

If you have received a call from a "scammer," you can call the Centralia Police Department and advise us of the information. We also recommend you call the Attorney General Offices at 800-392-8222.
